To give a little background information on the septic septic tank itself, we will provide some detail on what your septic tank entails. There are three layers to the average septic tank. The first layer consists of the scum or crud. This layer will not decompose. It sits on top of the waste water layer. You must have your septic tank emptied to remove the scum or the crud. We recommend scheduling a tank empty once per year. The second layer is the waste water later. The wastewater what exit to a drainfield or a soak away. The drains through the soil back to the groundwater flow. The third layer is the sludge. This is what the helpful bacteria consumes. This is solid waste that drops to the bottom of the septic tank. We will help ensure you have the proper helpful bacteria to dissolve the sludge and make over flow problems less likely.
